Leading Brand and Product Design

Vidyard

Helping shape the Vidyard product to reach over 12 Million users.

At Vidyard, I had the opportunity to lead design through a period of meaningful growth and transformation. Of course this was not a design sprint, but a series of initiatives that in hindsight were the seeds that helped shape Sidhu Studio. As Head of Design, I was responsible for scaling the design team, maturing our design practice, and aligning design strategy with the company’s aggressive business goals. Here are a few examples of the type of things I helped lead with my amazing team.

Unifying the marketing and product experience

One of the first major initiatives was the creation of a brand identity and design system that brought consistency and cohesion across Vidyard’s marketing site and product interface. This wasn't just about visual polish — it was about aligning the user experience with our brand promise, improving design velocity, and reducing friction across teams. The system became a foundational tool for product development, marketing alignment, and brand consistency.

Scaling the design team for Impact

As demand for design grew across the company, I focused on org design, strategic hiring and team development. I built out both the marketing and product design teams, eventually hiring a dedicated marketing design manager so I could fully focus on product design leadership. On the product side, I established a strong hiring pipeline, formalized onboarding practices.

Driving design maturity and team performance

My goal was to create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. I introduced regular design reviews, cross-functional jam sessions, and structured critique processes to foster shared ownership and elevate the quality of work. I also rolled out a career development framework (Career Matrix, Coaching Plans, Performance Reviews) to provide clarity around expectations, support growth, and align individual progress with team and business goals.

Partnering across the organization

A key part of the role was working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Leadership to ensure design was tightly integrated into how we prioritized, built, and launched. The design team played a central role in shaping product vision, informing roadmap strategy, and improving customer experience — from early discovery to launch.

Designing for the future. AI and beyond

One of the most exciting chapters was leading the team through the launch of Vidyard’s first AI-powered features. It was a company-wide effort to reimagine what our product could be — and design played a critical role in framing the user experience, guiding product strategy, and ensuring the innovation was intuitive and human-centered.

MVP Launch and Validation

My time at Vidyard was a masterclass in building a design organization that balances craft and impact, vision and execution. I’m proud of the work we shipped but even more proud of the team, and culture we built. The challenges were complex. But the opportunity to help shape a product used by millions while building a resilient, thoughtful, and high-performing design team is something I’ll always carry forward. The work below is a snippet of what my amazing team was able to accomplish under my leadership and collaboration.
